“What can I do when I get concerned about my finances?”

“What can I do when I get concerned about my finances?”

Question: “What can I do when I get concerned about my finances?”

Answer: When I get into that state (as I sometimes do), I immerse myself in books on prosperity. This not only helps my peace of mind, but keeps my thoughts more positive.

See if your local library has any prosperity books, especially by Catherine Ponder or Joseph Murphy. One of my standby’s is “The Abundance Book,” by John Randolph Price. There are also a bunch written recently by other authors. Even books on general mind principles by Emmet Fox are great for this.

Your library is probably connected to a library system, so if they don’t have the book you want, another in the system probably does and you can order it.

Book Review – “The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity”

“The Dynamic Laws Of Prosperity”
by Catherine Ponder

This book is a classic in metaphysical literature. The author has written many books on abundance, but this is a primer on prosperity techniques. She covers many aspects of prosperity, from affirmations to imaging to attitudes to forgiveness.

The first chapter attacks old negative bias’ towards wealth. She continues with basic laws of prosperity, and addresses many of the issues that prevent manifesting it.

Even if you don’t desire more prosperity, but a fuller, more satisfying life, this book will help you achieve it. It’s filled with affirmations that direct your mind to expand to accept more good. For more success, abundance, and a more harmonious life, this book is a necessary read.

Abundant Reasons To Release Clutter In Storage

Abundant Reasons To Release Clutter In Storage

by Linda-Ann Stewart

Recently, Jeff and I worked to consolidate my two storage units into one. The unit I was cleaning out was created when I sold my mother’s house, the other one was inherited from my mother. I brought several boxes home, went through some of them, and have a small hill of items to be donated to Goodwill.

Organizers say eliminating clutter and outdated things helps to lighten the mental load and clear the mind. According to them, you take less time to look through the clutter for things you want. I did find several items that I’ve spent hours looking for in the house. I didn’t realize they were in boxes in storage.

A feng shui practitioner once told me that going through piles of stuff released stuck energy. She said this stagnant energy could create difficulty in life, obstruct advancement in your career, and block money flow. Releasing that energy creates more of a flow in your life.

In spiritual circles, it’s said that if you want more good in your life, go through your attic, basement and closets and eliminate what you don’t use anymore. By releasing possessions you no longer need or want, you create a vacuum to draw more of what you want to you.

Whatever the reason, I’m glad to have been able to eliminate one storage unit. I still have a lot to go through in the unit I still have. But one great advantage of doing this is that it will definitely be nice to have a smaller payment each month.

“Money Is Power” – Not

“Money Is Power” – Not

by Linda-Ann Stewart

Over the years, I’ve heard a lot of attitudes about money that block prosperity. For instance, “Money doesn’t grow on trees,” “(The love of) money is the root of all evil,” “Wealthy people are greedy,” and so forth. For the person who holds an idea like this, they will restrict their abundance because they have to be congruent with their beliefs. They may want to be more prosperous, but they can’t violate their deeply held negative belief about it, or become like a person whose values they revile.

I heard another restrictive idea recently. An artist was being interviewed, and he said that “Money is power,” and since he didn’t want power, he would only make as much as he needed to live on.

Money isn’t power. It’s an agreed upon system that exchanges products or services for other products or services, like groceries, housing, clothing, etc. Money is simply a tool, it does what we tell it to do. If we tell it to pay our bills, it does. It can’t do it without our direction. Like a hammer, it can tear down a house or build one.

The power that people attribute to money actually comes from the intention and the character of the person holding it. If their intention is to have control over others, they’ll find a way to do that even if they’re poverty stricken. Mother Teresa had power, and she was poor. So money itself has no power of its own. Money is simply a means to an end, and the purpose for it is up to you.
