How can I think positively?

Question about affirmationsQuestion: How can I think positively all the time and get my family to do the same?

Answer: Staying positive all the time is hard for anyone to do. The goal is to think positively and optimistically MOST of the time. It’s also difficult to think positively when you’re surrounded by negative people.

Emile Coue, a pioneer in hypnosis, used an affirmation something like “Negative thoughts and negative suggestions have no effect on any level of my mind.” I usually follow it up with, “I accept only positive thoughts and ideas.”

Although you want your family to be more positive, you can’t make them that way. The only person you can change is yourself. Once you’ve made the change, they may look to you as a role model.

Can I use affirmations for more than 1 issue at a time?

Question about affirmationsQuestion: Must I repeat one affirmation, say for ten minutes morning and night till I receive a manifestation – say for 3 months – or can I use various affirmations during the day?

Answer:
Great question. It’s better to focus on one area at a time when you’re using affirmations. If you are working on significantly improving your health, prosperity, relationships, etc., it overloads the subconscious mind. Imagine you’re given a list of major things to accomplish in a short amount of time. If you’re like most people, you probably would like to throw up your hands and walk away. That’s what the subconscious does if it has too many things to change.

However, you can focus on one area, then during the day, use an affirmation that deals with generalized improvement – in all areas. Something as simple as Emile Coue’s (a pioneer in hypnosis) “Every day in every way, I’m getting better and better,” or even a statement that’s more complex. In that case, it will actually help the subconscious by having you uplifting your overall consciousness of good.

The subconscious acts on the tendency of your thinking. So, if during the day, you’re “tending” to think of improvement in all areas, thinking positively, then that will give the subconscious more “juice.”

Sparks of InsightSometimes, you may not be aware that deep down you don’t believe in the truth of a particular affirmation. However, if you’re not manifesting it, some feeling or belief is blocking it. That’s the time when you need to start listening closely to the things you’re telling yourself. Pay attention to the mutterings just below your consciousness. Or you could write down all of your beliefs or experiences about that particular subject. You’ll probably find the core of the issue, and be able to develop an affirmation to deal with it.

Sparks of Insight“A weed is only a flower whose use has not been found.” ~ Emerson

You have talents and abilities that make you unique, but that you may not be using. Maybe you believe that, “Everyone can do that” or “No one would want that.” But you were endowed with those gifts to be able to express them, and just need to discover how to do so in a way that fulfills you and blesses the world. Just because you haven’t found a way to put them to use doesn’t mean that they’re worthless. It’s just that you haven’t uncovered their particular benefit.

Can I get $1 million by affirming?

Ask The Expert  Comments Off on Can I get $1 million by affirming?

Question about affirmationsQuestion: Will I get results if I affirm twenty times a day that I have one million dollars?

Answer: It is highly unlikely that will bring that amount to you. You may receive a bit more, but that depends on your consciousness of abundance. Your consciousness is what you’re expanding when you use affirmations.

Affirmations aren’t a magic wand. They help to build your consciousness, just like you build a business, to accept more of what you’re affirming. And that depends on whether your daily thoughts are in alignment with the affirmation.

If the tendency of your thoughts is the opposite of the affirmation, the mind acts on the overall tendency. During the day, you have to keep your awareness focused on increased prosperity, and not talking and thinking “I can’t afford that,” “I don’t have the money,” etc. You need to be thinking, “I’m becoming more prosperous,” and ideas of that nature.
