“Fear Becomes Misplaced Faith”

“Fear Becomes Misplaced Faith”

“The Power that creates exists before we use It. However, It can give us only that which we mentally take, and often our unbelief becomes our acceptance, our fear a misplaced faith. We bind ourselves by the very power which could as quickly free us.”

From “Living the Science of Mind.”

This quote struck a chord with me. In general, I’ve been blessed. I’ve had great opportunities and generous people appear. However, I’ve also had a couple periods in which almost everything in my life fell apart. It went against my natural optimism, and created a tendency for me to believe in the worst case scenario. My fear became a faith that the worst was going to happen.

Because my pessimism channeled the Power, my life became littered with roadblocks. My disbelief that anything good was going to happen created an acceptance of more crises. I recognized the negative tendency of my thoughts, and worked to turn them around. It wasn’t easy, when my immediate experience was not reflecting the Good of the Universe. But, inch by inch, life began to respond to my new focus.
